The RS8 IP is an iSCSI-to-SATA2 appliance, Built-in enterprise feature such as Snapshot, providing point-in-time recovery that safeguard accidental deletion, makes the new ULTRASTOR™ RS8 IP an ideal solution for server storage. We have yet to review the Management Inteface, but the price is right coming in for a 8-Disk iSCSI-to-SATA2 appliance starting around $3,500 and it seems like CDW and other high-end Resellers are pushing this device as well.
Nimbus Data Systems provides an nice entry-leve appliance called the Breeze MX4. Unsure of their ability to adequately support customers since our calls went unanswered, our voicemail unanswered to both support and finance along with an email that took about 18 hours to get back to us with. When you have a critical situation, you need assistance fast. Our test for their customer support was pretty poor off the bat.
The Cybernetics miSAN(D) is a very nice appliance. The management interface is very easy to use and has the support behind it to help you in a critical situation. The pricing for this entry level 8-Drive iSCSI-to-SATA2 appliance is about $5,000-$6,000.
